The West Mids Best Kids track and field team is comprised of the top young athletes from the west midlands area. each athlete is selected based upon the high standards that they achieve in their specific event and their ability to perform under pressure.

athletes are required to successfully achieve the national entry standard as a minimum with a considerable number of West Mids Best Kids achieving the national standard throughout the season. due to the high standard of athletic achievement by athletes in the west midlands, the entry standard is often not enough to guarantee one of the available sixty places in the team.

those athletes who have shown the commitment and dedication to their event to reap the rewards will represent the West Midlands Schools Athletics Association at the prestigious English Schools Athletics Association Championships, one of the biggest annual youth sporting events in the world! The ESAA championship is held annually and is broadcast live on SKY SPORTS tv. it is where the West Mids Best Kids compete against all the other counties in England - for individual event success and the overall team championship trophy.

West Mids Best Kids have been overall champions a total of eleven times and are one of the most successful teams in england,rarely finishing outside of the top three!
